WILL ALONE BE AS GOOD AS THE TRAILER?
After lack of releases over a couple of weeks, the coming Friday will see the release of multiple films, in Hindi as well as English. My views on the Hindi releases:
ALONE: This is a remake of the Thai film by the same name and is directed by Bhushan Patel, who made 1920 Evil Returns and Ragini MMS 2. It stars Bipasha Basu in a double role and marks the debut of television actor Karan Singh Grover. This is a horror flick and even the harshest of critics who often mock the Bollywood scary films have admitted that Alone looks good, at least from the trailer. Also, the chemistry shared by Karan and Bipasha is electrifying and quite sizzling. Most of the film is shot in the beautiful locales of Kerala and it looks great on screen. Bollywood actors have lent their support to the film, including superstars like Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan who have tweeted in favour of the film. Excitement for the film is moderate and obviously many viewers would adopt a ‘wait-and-watch’ policy. If response is positive, Alone can pick up and turn out to be a profitable venture.
SHARAFAT GAYI TEL LENE: This film marks the return of Zayed Khan and also stars Rannvijay Singha, Tena Desae and Anupam Kher. Trailer looks fun while songs have got little bit of recognition. However, the competition from Alone and other films is immense. Also, buzz is low and all these factors while go against this comic caper.
CRAZY CUKKAD FAMILY: As the title suggest, the film is a story of a crazy family. However, more than crazy and funny, it is maddening and borders on being atrocious. That’s what it seems from the trailer. It carries hardly any buzz and is bound to have a difficult time at the ticket window.
WHICH FILM OUT OF THESE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE? DO LET ME KNOW!
