(Crisp) Movie Review: THE IMITATION GAME by FENIL SETA

The Imitation Game attempts to tell a very interesting tale that was kept secret for almost 50 years – the tale of mathematician Alan Turing and his amazing services for the Allies during the World War II. Alan was a War Hero without even going to the battlefield even once and who fought bravely without any bloodshed (he did got bit bruised when assaulted by a fellow mathematician though). Benedict Cumberbatch is simply mindblowing and he efficiently plays the role of a loner mathematician genius. Keira Knightley too puts her best foot forward and as always, it’s a pleasure to see her smiling! The first half is great but the film drops in the second hour. The climax is heartbreaking and makes viewers give thumbs up to the unsung hero. For me, it was once again great to go for a film simply on the basis of extremely positive word of mouth and without checking even the promos. Recommended!
My rating - **** out of 5!
