Priyanka Chopra has joined the list of global celebrities who have come together for the #Imagine Project to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Besides Priyanka, artist Yoko Ono, music producer and DJ David Guetta, UNICEF Ambassadors Katy Perry, Angélique Kidjo, Daniela Mercury and other celebrities like Will.I.Am, Nicole Scherzinger and Idris Elba will render their versions of John Lennon's Imagine. It aims to create a moment in music history that will highlight the challenges children face the world over. The only Indian to be a part of the video, Priyanka has already recorded her version.

She said, “An exciting aspect of my eight-year association with UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador has not only been the ability to make a difference to people's lives, but also to create avenues to connect with a wider audience.I'm honoured to be a part of this great cause.“

About the song, she added, “John Lennon has been my favourite. What's even more special for me is the song itself -it's relevant in today's crazy world.“

The initiative will allow people to record their own version of the song alongside their favourite stars, thus making it a global sing-along. These recordings will be made into a multi-lingual `world' version, which will be released on New Year's Eve.

A special version of the track, featuring a solo performance by Priyanka, will be released in the coming weeks.
