Manjunath starring Sasho Satiiysh Saarathy, Divya Dutta, Seema Biswas and Yashpal Sharma is set to premiere on &pictures. A tale of courage, the movie is based on the real life story of a mine worker's son named Shanmughan Manjunath, a former IIM Lucknow graduate and a marketing manager at a state-owned oil and gas enterprise. On learning that fuel was being adulterated, Manjunath had set out on a journey to fight against the corruption. He had lost his life for it in the bargain. The nation witnessed an outrage after his death.

To keep the audience engaged, Sandeep Verma, the director of the film, kept the story as authentic as possible. The film was shot at the various locations that he was known to frequent -one of them being IIM Lucknow. For one of the scenes, the entire campus had to be lit up. Since the B-School's exams were about to begin, the dean strictly advised the unit not to disturb the students. However, the students helped the unit and made sure the crew shot the desired sequence.

The director also used real-life news footage of Manjunath's death as well as the crowd's rage following the incident, to retain the impact of the tragedy.
