Although the very popular film Happy New Year is earning all the name and fame with its exceptional earnings at the box office, still the movie is being criticized a lot across. Not only a big lot of the general public has criticized the movie and the plot but here is one legendary actress who has criticized it.

Jaya  Bachchan who’s son Abhishek Bachchan is a prominent character in the movie, has not shied away from criticizing the film. At a recently concluded literature fest in Mumbai, Jaya Bachchan called Happy New Year the most nonsensical film.

Her statement was, “HNY is the most nonsensical film I’ve seen in recent years. I said that to the film’s lead actor as well. I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he’s a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that. I can’t be part of what is being done in films these days and hence I don’t do films anymore,”

This statement emerged in the middle of discussion at a session ‘the failure of literature in informing current cinema’
