Rumour has it that cricketer Virat Kohli might be offered Yash Raj Films’ next movie, which his girlfriend, actress Anushka Sharma was to star in, opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The cricketer is no stranger to a camera or being a celebrity. It would be a natural progression for him to become an actor, like so many cricketers before him.

The two have not only started making appearances together, but they have also recently acknowledged their relationship. There’s no denying that they make for a good-looking pair. Their romance began on the sets of an ad shoot and it would only be fitting that it finds it way to the big screen eventually.

Of course, Virat who happens to be in great form on the field currently may find it extremely difficult to fit in a movie shoot in his busy schedule. He, however, is on most advertisers’ list when it comes to brand endorsements and it’s only natural that filmmakers too want to cash in on his popularity... especially among women.

Here’s why we think Virat should step on the big screen:
He’s got the look: Counted among the most good looking cricketers not just in India, but across the globe, Virat is loved by fans everywhere. Apart from that, he is in super shape and can give any B-Town actor a run for his money. The ad world has seen him endorsing pretty much everything from bikes to shampoos to fairness creams, and his brand value is only soaring higher. As for the film world, he now has Anushka to guide him and offer tips.

Voyeuristic pleasure: Even before Virat and Anushka acknowledged their relationship, their jodi had caught the fancy of fans and media alike. Whether it was them holidaying together or visiting each others’ homes, the shutterbugs and fans always kept track of their moves. And real-life pairs always arouse the audience’s curiosity. Watching them on screen together would definitely be fun and feed the audiences voyeuristic desire to peep into their love life.

Cricket stars and movie stars: Right from the time of Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, to Amrita Singh and Ravi Shastri, to Sangeeta Bijlani and Md Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly and Nagma, Yuvraj Singh and Kim Sharma and more recently Virat and Anushka, actresses and cricketers have found much print space dedicated to them. While some romances lasted and others faded away, the janta has always been fascinated with them.
