Karan Johar had tweeted in 2013 that he was definitely planning to turn his 2012 hit, Student Of The Year (SOTY) into a franchise and launch new talents each time. The campus romance had marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra who are big names in Bollywood today.

Now Mirror has learnt that KJo, who has just returned after a month in the US where his mother, Hiroo Johar undwerwent back surgery, has approached Tiger Shroff to topline the second part.

A source close to the development says, “Karan met Tiger a few days ago and spoke about casting him as one of the leads. Tiger loved the part and readily agreed to the project.“

The source added that Karan is yet to finalise the rest of the cast and has not decided when the sequel will roll. “It will definitely not be anytime soon because Tiger will soon get into action for Sabbir Khan's next and will follow up with a Remo D'Souza's action romance co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez,“ the source added.
