My films usually take a lot of time. But it’s not a conscious decision-Hrithik Roshan

Bang Bang is still breaking box-office records, despite the poor reviews, thanks to leading man Hrithik Roshan, who is the only saving grace of the film. He is pulling in the audiences into theatres in the second week.
His 21st release (Bang Bang!) is his biggest ever opener. The actor, who debuted in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000) has done very few films, compared to his contemporaries.
He has been in the industry 14 years and he has done only 21 films. Among those films, nine have been big hits (not counting Bang Bang!) and three average earners. That’s a fantastic record at the box-office. Even the Khan trio do not have that kind of success ratio, making Duggu the most bankable actor!
He has never spread himself too thin, that’s perhaps the secret of his box-office magic. Going merely by the numbers, the light-eyed actor has done almost a film a year, which is largely considered an Aamir Khan model. Even though most actors have started doing a film a year now, at the beginning of their careers, everyone did three films a year, except Roshan Jr.
Ask him why he has done so few films, and he says, “I don’t know. In my head, I am continuously working. My films usually take a lot of time. But it’s not a conscious decision. In 2004, I didn’t face the camera for an entire year. The three years before that, I drained myself out. I never took an off for a single day. It was only after Lakshya got over, I went for a vacation. I was empty. So I took that I had to fill myself. After coming back, I started working for my dad’s next film.”
