Karan Johar spent the past month by his mother Hiroo's side in New York, where she was treated for a backbone related complaint. (Mirror, Sep 22). The filmmaker is back in town. And so is a fighting fit Hiroo. A friend of the filmmaker told Mirror, “Karan was completely focussed on his mother's health. He had instructed his team to contact him only if it was for urgent work.“

While Hiroo jetted straight back to Mumbai, Karan stopped over in Dubai for a day to meet his friends, Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan. The duo got back in time to celebrate Diwali. Hiroo was spotted playing cards at Ekta Kapoor's annual bash on Wednesday night. The party was attended by Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Shraddha Kapoor, Tiger Shroff and Shilpa Shetty among others. The celebrations went on till the wee hours. Mirror has it that Anil Kapoor's wife Sunita won the jackpot.
