HAPPY NEW YEAR grossed around 12.25 crore nett on Monday which is a big drop from its first day which was a huge national holiday but around 55% from Saturday and Sunday which were normal days. The film saw a big drop in the metros and circuits like East Punjab.

The total after four days is around 109 crore nett and the film should gross around 135 crore nett for the week going by its Monday figure but it could be a bit lower as Gujarat could come down on Wednesday when the holidays stop in the circuit.

The Monday figure is pretty good as a number but if we take into account that Gujarat is holiday and without that it would have been 11 crore nett or less then the trend is not strong. The film will not become a major blockbuster like a KICK or CHENNAI EXPRESS but won't be a BANG BANG or JAI GO as well because the huge weekend has ensured the film will be on the plus side..
