Annabelle is no Conjuring. It has some scary moments but the novelty factor is missing. It is full of clichés especially towards the latter half, and hence becomes a bit predictable. However, it is engaging and doesn’t have a single dull moment. Performances are decent and the actress who plays Mia (whose name, incidentally, is Annabelle Wallis) is lovely. Alfre Woodard (Evelyn) leaves a huge mark. It is okay if you give it a miss in theatres.

My rating - ** ½ out of 5!
