Juhi Chawla has had an
eventful 2014 she started the year on a high, winning accolades for her
powerful performance in Gulaab Gang, followed by an award by the
Dadasaheb Phalke Academy. Then came the spectacular win at IPL, where
her team Kolkata Knight Riders, won the championship for the second
time. To top it all, her work around radiation awareness is heading in a
positive direction and support from the government
has started pouring in.
She tells us, “A couple of days ago we met Dr Davis, who was the co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 with Al Gore. She advises governments on environment issues and we discussed our work on mobile radiation with her. In Delhi, we also met important officials and made wonderful progress. We are pushing for policy changes and for norms to change for radiation levels. What we really want to do is spread awareness.“
Talking about KKR, their IPL win and reaching the Champions League finals, the multi-tasking actress says, “When the team won the championship again this year, they proved that they got it on merit. It makes us feel so proud.“ As far as films go, she says, “I've come across an outstanding script called Chalk n Duster. After Gulaab Gang and the wonderful reactions I got for it, I don't want to do anything that doesn't sparkle. After I got the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, I can easily say I was the best villain this year. I did something new and I was thrilled to be appreciated for it.“
