The Ram Leela actor says he always wanted to be an actor but never thought that he will actually make it. He had some friends in the industry and he used to attend Bollywood parties. He was fortunate enough to get noticed there and had quite a few offers for lead roles. But when Band Baaja Baaraat was offered to him, it clicked. Ranveer decided to give it a shot. He was a fresher and did not care if the film will do good or not but he wanted to take a chance.

On being a star
Ranveer enjoys the adulation that comes from being a filmstar. He doesn’t plan anything, “because things never go the way you plan”. He believes in living in the current moment.

On rumours
The actor says he has no control over the rumours spread by people and does not care about things that are beyond his control.

On his co-star Anushka Sharma
Says Ranveer, “I respect Anushka a lot. She is someone who held my hand and guided me through my first film. As I was new and didn’t understand the nuances of filmmaking, Anushka was extremely patient.” He adds, “Anushka is misunderstood as she is not manipulative. She is from an army background very straight forward and righteous to the core.”

On Deepika’s recent conflict with a daily
Ranveer is very proud of Deepika that she took a stand. “Generally such things are ignored with a chalta hai attitude. But she stood up and I am happy to see the kind of support she got,” he says.
