On Sunday, Akshay Kumar lost his dog Okie to old age. We learnt that he and his family were terribly upset with the loss, specially his son Aarav, who was most attached to him. A few months back, Akshay in an interview to the Bombay Times had said, “We have two German Shepherds at home. The older one is Okie and the other, Cleo. I got Okie the same time when Aarav was born. I wanted them to both grow up together. Aarav named him Okie just like that. I remember the day we brought Aarav home, Okie came and started sniffing and somehow, even though I had got Okie, he got the message that Aarav was his master and he had to look after him. He would follow Aarav wherever he went and would sit besides him. Aarav and he have grown up together. Okie has become really old now and is 14. Aarav is 12. If we lose him, obviously it will affect Aarav as he is most attached to him. We actually had another adopted dog after Okie, but he was not well and even though we tried our level best to save him, he died. Aarav had got attached to him also and started crying after he died, which is when we brought Cleo.“ While Akshay has currently taken his family for a holiday to Singapore, we are sure Aarav will remember Okie forever.
