Mamta Kulkarni, the sizzling actress of the ’90s known for her bold and controversial magazine covers has reportedly embraced Islam. The actress who is living in Nairobi with her husband Vicky Goswami is said to have converted recently. Last year there were reports of her turning spiritual and penning a book Autobiography of a Yogini. Apart from Mamta there are several Bolly personalities who have converted to Islam for various reasons. Dharamendra had changed his religion to marry Hema Malini back in 1979, Sharmila Tagore had to convert to marry cricketer Nawarb Pataudi, ditto Amrita Singh when she had tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan. The Grammy winner AR Rahman was born as AS Dileep Kumar before he turned Muslim when his sister fell seriously ill.
