The Great Expectations adaptation, due to begin this month in the Himalayan state, was originally set to roll in August. It is believed that director Abhishek ‘Gattu’ Kapoor hadn’t completed his recce for locations by then. So, shooting was pushed to September. Now, says an insider, “The first schedule has been pushed further by a month.”

The source further adds, “Even if they decide to begin by October, the impact of the massive tragedy in J&K makes it seem improbable. There has been loss of life, the infrastructure is in shambles and hotels are not in the position to provide accommodations to house a big crew. Things will take time to get back to normal.”

However, an official spokesperson for UTV maintains, “Fitoor is currently in pre-production stage. So, the location is yet to be finalised,” but admits, “The first schedule, which features Aditya, Katrina and Rekha, starts October-end.”
