(Crisp) Movie Review: FINDING FANNY by FENIL SETA

Finding Fanny is quirky and its strongest point is that it attempts to do something drastically different. The storyline is quite novel and the fun and crazy moments experienced by the five oddballs in the film make for an entertaining watch. At the same time however, the film loses steam at places in the second half. One doesn’t quite empathize much with characters, except for Naseeruddin Shah’s. However, no complaints when it comes to performances. Arjun Kapoor surprises the most and the scene where he gets full-on angry towards the finale is terrific. Locales are beautiful and having just returned from Goa around 24 hours back, it was fun to look at all the places keenly and ask myself ‘Did we visit this place’ and ‘Didn’t we passed through this spot’! On the whole, it’s a one-time watch and could have been better. But full marks to the makers and the cast and crew for attempting to do something hatke!
My rating - *** out of 5!
