Sonalee Kulkarni is happy with the positive response to her brief appearance in Singham Returns. The actress played Maneka, Bajirao Singham's (Ajay Devgn) childhood friend, who Avni (Kareena Kapoor Khan) is jealous of. “My role was like a breath of fresh air in the otherwise intense film,“ she says.

Sonalee reveals that she initially kept to herself on the set of the film. But director Rohit Shetty made her feel at home in no time. “Rohit broke the ice by playing a prank on me. I felt at ease then,“ she smiles.

The actress says that after Grand Masti, being a part of this massive franchise has made people notice her. “Someone told me, 'Dus minute mein aap chhaa gaye.' That was the best compliment. I hope this brings good roles my way,“ she says.

Sonalee is currently looking forward to her three Marathi ventures this year. While her first release Mitwa is a love story, Classmates revolves around a college reunion. But the actress is most excited about Shutter, where she plays a prostitute. “Unlike the prostitutes often seen on screen with garish make-up, we have kept my look as realistic as possible. And believe me, I enjoyed playing a roadside hooker.“
