Ankur Pathak (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 25, 2014)
He played a student caught
in the middle of a moral conflict in Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan, and then
again a modern-day Romeo fond of “girls and guns” in his last dud,
Isaaq. Continuing with the rebellious streak, Prateik Babbar, will now
be seen in a film titled Robin Hood Ke Pote.
Revealed a source, “Prateik is desperate in need of a hit to revive his career. He wants to reestablish himself as a serious actor with this film.” Elaborating on the story, our source added, “It’s about a bunch of bandits who take on the system. The film is largely set in Bhopal and will be shot on real locations.” The film marks the directorial debut of Pradeep Singrole who assisted Imtiaz Ali on Jab We Met. He was also the associate director of the Hollywood film, Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain.
When contacted a ‘superstitious’ Prateik refused to comment but his co-star in the film, Anshuman Jha confirmed the news, saying, “I was supposed to do Aarakshan but the role eventually went to Prateik while he was to do Yeh Hai Bakrapur which landed on my lap. Finally, we have a film together. It is a gripping plot with an interesting director. We should be ready for release next year.”
