After a thrilling run
of 13 weeks, Sophie Choudry may not have ended up in
the final round of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7, but she's glad that she could
showcase her versatility as a performer on this platform. “From an
aerial act to acrobatics in water, I tried as many styles as I could. I
was not only named the show's oomph factor but also 'The Queen of
Avatars',“ she says.
Her stint was riddled with many injuries and she even had to undergo physiotherapy sessions.Sophie reveals, “During a performance, the background dancer forgot to catch me and I fell flat on my spine. I continued my act, but broke down backstage because I knew I was badly hurt. For two weeks, I survived on painkillers and injections.“ Naturally, she is upset about not making it to the grand finale. “I feel I deserved to be in the final four,“ she asserts.
But she is thankful to the Bollywood fraternity, who were rooting for her on a micro-blogging site throughout her journey on the show. “Bipasha (Basu) I and Tusshar have been I amazing. Salman (Khan) was a sweetheart when he came on the show. Kareena (Kapoor Khan) spoke about my injuries before anyone knew,“ she states.
Last seen in Bollywood in Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara, she plans to return to the big screen soon. “I did a Tamil song with Prabhu Dheva sir and a Telugu song with Mahesh Babu this year. I'm now working on a few s more songs of my own,“, she sums up.
