As is evident from winning
the title, four-time National Award filmmaker Madhur
Bhandarkar's next, Calendar Girls, revolves around models who gain fame
after featuring in calendars. In what is an interesting move, the faces
of the girls are being kept under wraps for now.
Not only has Madhur
restricted visitors at the shoot, but has also forbidden his team from
carrying mobile phones or cameras. Besides, producer Sangeeta Ahir of
Mangal Murti Films has ensured the cast and crew is bound by a
Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). “Madhur has cast five newcomers. For
now, our priority is to complete the shoot. Only when we're closer to
the release, we'll reveal the girls who are being launched,“ she says.
Madhur was certain that he wanted girls who were not only glamorous, but had acting skills to boot. He says, “I'm pleased that we got girls who are delivering good performances, since the movie is heavy on content.“
The film is currently being shot on a lavish scale in Mumbai and the next schedule will be overseas. The curiosity around the newcomers has peaked, but the only thing the makers are willing to reveal at this point, is that they are models from different Indian cities.
