Kangna Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut is on a new high these days. After the success of her film, Queen, she has been inundated with film offers. Recently, there was news that Kangana has been offered a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali which might be a biopic; now the buzz is that filmmaker Hansal Mehta met the actress before going to the US and that at this meeting, he discussed the possibility of doing a biopic with her.

On her part, Kangana’s calendar is chock-a-bloc as she has four films lined up. There’s a sequel to Tanu Weds Manu, where she will portray a double role; Reema Kagti’s untitled romance with Saif Ali Khan also stars her. In addition to this, she has been cast alongside Irrfan in Sai Kabir’s Divine Lovers, an Indian-French co-production about corruption; and she has committed to starring opposite Imran Khan in Katti Batti, a romantic comedy directed by Nikhil Advani.

While Kangna remained unavailable for comment, an industry source close to Hansal Mehta says, “Yes, Hansal has offered a film to Kangana and it’s a biopic. But nothing more has been decided so far. Kangana has two other offers – there’s a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and another by Prakash Jha. She is still not sure about which one to pick from these two. Once she finalises this, she will take a call on other offers.”

Hansal Mehta, who is currently in the US, could not be reached for a comment.
