Chitrangda Singh has done an item number in the Akshay Kumar-Shruti Haasan starrer, Gabbar. Though the makers are tightlipped about it, sources state that she was pencilled in on the Khiladi’s recommendation.

Says the source, “The makers were looking for a known face to do an item number and Akshay came up with her name. Yo Yo Honey Singh has recorded the song for which the video was shot two weeks ago.” In her interviews, Chitrangda has always said that she has no qualms being part of such tracks. She did an item number in Joker (2012) and featured alongside Akshay Kumar in Desi Boyz (2011).

Directed by Krish and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gabbar is a remake of AR Murugadoss’ 2002 Tamil film Ramana, starring Vijaykanth and Simran. Krish maintains, “It’s too early to talk about anything.” When asked further, he suggested that we get in touch with the film’s producers.

The producers, Akshay and Chitrangada remained unavailable for comment.
