After the hit Galliyan,
Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kolhapure's 25-year old daughter, Shraddha
Kapoor, has returned to the mic once again. Mirror spotted the
actress on Saturday at singer-composer Raju Singh's studio in Juhu,
singing aalaps for the background score of her upcoming film, Ek
Villain. She finished in two hours. That was exactly how long it had taken her to record Galliyan.
The film's director Mohit Suri explained the scenes to Shraddha in detail before she took to the microphone.“It was challenging for her as Mohit wanted to use the alaaps in emotional scenes,“ said a source.
Speaking about her second singing assignment, Shraddha says that Mohit called last week and told her that he now wanted her to lend her voice to the background score. “I don't know whether those alaaps will be used in the first half of the movie or post interval. But I still haven't got over the fact that Mohit is asking me to do so much in the film,“ said the actress.
Shraddha who is not a trained singer and has only sung once in a school adaptation of Grease, adds, “I am overwhelmed by the response to Galliyan. I had asked Mohit during Aashiqui 2 to let me sing. When he called me for Galliyan, I thought he wanted me to sing just a few lines but I ended up giving playback for the whole song and now there's this. He has given me so much!”
Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the upcoming romantic-thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in main roles, will open on June 27.
