Salman Khan is no stickler for punctuality and is known to often keep people waiting, from producers to journalists. But a recent late entry did not go down well with the actor.
When the first look of Sajid Nadiadwala's upcoming action comedy Kick was unveiled with great fanfare at a suburban theatre, it was trailer no.2 which was screened for the adoring public.
Mirror has learnt that the original Kick trailer was not used as the film's star only entered the screen 40 seconds into the promotional video. This was corrected overnight in the second trailer in which we are introduced to Salman within the first 15 seconds, after a brief build-up of the suspense by Randeep Hooda's character, a cop hot on the heels of the 'Devil'.
A source close to the film's production explained: "Salman felt that making the viewers wait for almost a minute in the clip would dilute the impact of the trailer. He voiced his concern to Sajid (the film's producer and debutant director Sajid Nadiadwala) and insisted on an alternative trailer in which he makes a dashing entry within the first few seconds. Although this wasn't the initial plan, everybody in the team agreed that this was best for the film."
When contacted, Nadiadwala said, "Every filmmaker tries various cuts before the final theatrical trailer. We wanted the maximum impact as its Salman Khan's Eid release after a long time. The trailer has crossed more than 21.5 million views and 32,000 plus likes within 24 hours which is a record in itself. So it has clearly worked."
