Director Mahesh Bhatt has over the years gained notoriety for recycling/copying/taking inspiration (call it what you may) various Hollywood flicks. Now Bhatt seems to have developed a penchant for tweeting not so original tweets. This was pointed out to us by @jitendrajain_ Here’s a detailed list

The tweet: What ails India is its inability to distribute the benefits of economic growth equitably. We lag behind Brazil on quality of life indicators.
The original source: An article in Harvard Business Review titled The Sum of India’s Contradictions by Anand P Raman published on November 20, which says what ails India is its inability to distribute the benefits of economic growth equitably. The country lags behind several slower-growing economies, such as Brazil and South Africa, on quality-of-life indicators, including real wages, life expectancy, and nutrition. In fact, according to Drèze and Sen, when ranked alongside the 16 poorest countries in sub-Saharan Africa, India is 10th or worse on most developmental parameters — a poke in the eye for those who claim that it is a rising economic superpower.

The tweet: Retreating from the community into areas where we feel safe exacerbates our isolation and diminishes our ability to prevent further violence.
The original source: Copied from an article titled Freedom from fear: Tackling violence in our communities published on www.thefreelibrary.com/ The para reads: In contrast, many people and institutions respond by retreating behind locked doors, causing further isolation and suffering for victims. If we do not reach out to victims, we allow entire communities to become victimised, creating an environment of isolation. Retreating from the larger community into areas where we feel safe exacerbates our isolation and diminishes our ability to prevent further violence.

The Tweet: Violence is a community problem that requires a community response.
The original source: An article published on http://hcdvcc.org/coordinated-community-response/ HCDVCC’s core philosophy of a Coordinated Community Response to domestic violence is that domestic violence is a community problem and so requires the entire community to address the issue.

The tweet: We are in the Era Of Distraction. Or is the Time Of Abundance Culture?
The tweet: Making films NOW is something entirely different from THEN (aka before the internet).
The original source: How Much Data And Content Is Being Generated Right Now? published on June 5 The Internet In Real Time is a must see for anyone who has pondered this question. If there is any doubt that making films NOW is something entirely different from THEN (aka before the internet), The Internet In Real Time should demonstrate that we are in the Era Of Distraction. Or is the Time Of Abundance Culture?

The tweet: Every society honours living conformists and dead troublemakers. The opposite of bravery is not cowardice but conformity.
The original source: The above tweet is a combination of two quotes:
- Every society honours its live conformists and its dead troublemakers. — Mignon McLaughlin
- The opposite of bravery is not cowardice but conformity. — Robert Anthony

The tweet: Actors become stars when their off- screen life styles and personalities equal or surpass acting ability in importance.
The tweet: While other entertainment industries may manufacture stars, cinema still provides the ultimate confirmation of stardom.
The original source: Both tweets are copied from the book Stardom: Industry of Desire.
