Filmistaan actor bags Nikhil Advani’s next

It seems that even before Filmistaan hits the theatres, director Nitin Kakkar and actor Sharib Hashmi are already on an upward swing as far as their Bollywood careers are concerned.

After Rakeysh Mehra signed Kakkar to direct a film for his banner, filmmaker Nikhil Advani has got Shabir Hashmi, the actor who toplines Filmistaan, for a political satire.

Revealed a source, "Nikhil saw the film a few days ago at a special screening. Impressed by Sharib's performance, the director immediately sounded off an idea to the actor. It's a political satire which also features Saurabh Shukla in a pivotal role. Nikhil intends to direct the film after he's wrapped up his current project, Hero."

When contacted, Nikhil confirmed the news. "Yes, I have signed Sharib as I think he's an exceptional performer. However, in my next, he will be seen in a completely new avatar," the director said.
