When filmmaker Ritesh Sinha hit a roadblock after finishing his UK-based sports drama on figure-skating, Promise Dad, he decided to approach his director-friend Kunal Kohli to help him secure a release.

 Ritesh wanted Kunal to present the film, but the latter decided to come on board as creative producer. “I was really impressed with the film which touches upon the politics within the fraternity as far as this particular sport goes. At the same time, it’s also a heartwarming story about a father and son,” explains Kunal.

 So what kind of creative inputs did he offer? “I am adding some romance to the action. We are also re-shooting the climax on a lavish scale as I felt it would look spectacular in a skating ring,” he says.

 The film which features Tom Paulson, Catherine Mushkun and Faye Morgan in lead roles, is gearing up for a global release around December.
