Title wars are common in Bollywood. In fact, these days even Hollywood giants have jumped into the fray and have started claiming titles registered for Bollywood films. Case in point is Action Jackson — where a war broke out between a major Hollywood studio and Hindi film producer Gordhan Tanwani.

Of course, there are also cases of amicable settlements. The latest is the case of filmmaker Rajiv Rai, who made 90s superhits Tridev, Mohra and Gupt. Rajiv has been in hibernation for almost a decade. But he still has a kitty of interesting film titles registered against his name. ‘Villain’ is one such title. When Ekta wanted to use this title for her film, she requested Rajiv, who very gracefully let go of it.

So, Ekta’s film will now be called Ek Villain.
