Delighted with the success of his clothing brand for men, HRX India, which Hrithik Roshan launched recently, the actor is all set to come up with his brand of shoes under the same name. Just like his clothing line, the shoes too will be sold online.
Says a source, “Shoes are the next automatic extension in the product category. Hrithik lives by the philosophy of pushing yourself to the extreme. These products are an extension of his personality and philosophy. His talent management agency, Exceed Entertainment along with the Wild East Group, ideated, developed and managed this new asset for Hrithik. The brand has quickly risen to be one of the top selling brands online with Myntra. Hrithik is the curator and has a set of designers in the online store who put things together as per his brief. Nothing goes out without his input and approvals.” The source adds that right now the actor is only concentrating on online selling. “We wanted to see how the clothing brand works in the market. Now that it has become so successful, shoes are the next product category. They have plans to take the brand offline by the end of the year in exclusive stores,” he says.
The HRX shoes will include footwear in the fitness and sports space. “At the moment we are thinking of sports-cum-casual wear shoes that are perfect for running and working out and not formal wear. It will have everything from sneakers in different colours ranging from funky neon to classic white sports shoes. Even socks matching the shoes are part of the plan,” the source says.
