Remember the sequence in Gangaajal, when SP Amit Kumar (played by Ajay Devgn) lands up at Tezpur and is appalled to see the state in which cops worked day and night? Now imagine most police stations functioning in the same manner throughout the country. And imagine expecting the staff of such police stations to deliver quick and efficient justice. The second episode of Satyamev Jayate Season 2 touched upon this very crucial issue of the country and it was just bang on! Moreover, for the first time ever in Satyamev Jayate, it was recognized that politicians are very much responsible for the ills of society.

After the shocking but not-so-well-researched first episode of Satyamev Jayate Season 2, the second one takes a comprehensive look towards the issue and also enlightens audiences about the plight of the policemen and how several cops themselves are trying their best to get a change in the system. The shocking point is when it’s exposed that few cops are made to do household chores in the residences of honorable netas! The fact that many cops work in dire conditions, suffer from health problems, are poorly paid and are rarely seen with respect by the aam junta is confirmed by the various guests on the show and instantly, one starts sympathizing with the khakee-uniformed people. What is also noteworthy is Aamir Khan and his team went to the root of the problem and enlightened about the origins of the police system in India and how there’s an urgent need to bring changes in the same.

And as expected, Aamir also presented the silver lining – the cops of Kerela who have befriended the citizens and improved their image. Few other solutions were also provided and if an attempt is made to implement the same, it’s the country that’ll ultimately benefit. Sadly, the privileged few might feel threatened and would try their best from bringing any change. But then, nothing is impossible.

On the whole, the second episode of Satyamev Jayate Season 2 was one of the best of the entire series. It unveiled some shocking truths and it was all done neatly. At the same time, a complete view of the issue was taken into account. And not to forget, the song ‘Dhoondta Hai Man Mera’ was simply touching laced with soul-stirring lyrics. Here’s hoping that each episode of Satyamev Jayate Season 2 is just as awesome!
