QUEEN VS TOTAL SIYAPAA!

2 interesting moderate releases are all set to hit theatres tomorrow. My analysis on each:

QUEEN: Kangana Ranaut looks absolutely cute and adorable in Queen, as evident from the promos and songs. The film depicts an unusual journey of a girl who goes on her honeymoon, all alone! It also stars Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon and is directed by Vikas Bahl, who co-directed Chillar Party. The film has as many as 9 songs, by Amit Trivedi, and are gradually picking up. London Thumakda has already caught attention. But more than the songs, it’s the trailer that has done the trick. Sadly, the film might work more in the multiplexes and it's single screen business might be dull, which can prove detrimental. But if response is positive, the film can have an edge.

TOTAL SIYAPAA: The film stars Ali Zafar and Yaami Gautam in leading roles and is a wacky tale of how a Pakistani guy faces the worst time in his life when he goes to meet the family of his Indian girlfriend in UK. Like Queen, the trailer helped Total Siyapaa a lot as well. The trailer is laced with some excellent dialogues and funny moments. Moreover, Kirron Kher seems to be in top form. Also, this is the first time she’s paired with her real-life hubby, Anupam Kher. Songs are good but haven’t made considerable impact. Another advantage is its duration – 108 minutes – that can go in its favour.  But again, buzz is limited and a good word of mouth is what it needs desperately to earn at the box office.
