Dayanand Shetty aka Daya of CID is all set to play inspector Daya in Singham 2. He was offered the role after shooting for Khatron Ke Khiladi (KKK) 5, which Daya is a part of and Rohit Shetty is hosting. Says Daya, “I have known Rohit for the past 10-15 years, and have always wanted to work with him. When we were shooting for KKK, Rohit had an inpsector’s role in his mind, which he offered to me, but was apprehensive because of date issues. I shoot for CID throughout the month, but I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity. I am adjusting between the film (directed by Rohit) and CID. I have already finished one schedule.” The beefy actor who has appeared in small roles earlier in films like Johnny Gaddaar says that he has a substantial role in Singham 2. “I am with Singham (Ajay Devgn) for a good part of the film. I play a positive character,” says Daya. Ask him if Rohit has him breaking any doors in the film too, and he grins, “The scene I have shot for involves firing. Aage darwaza sequence ayega toh todna padega.”
