Television actor Siddharth Shukla (Balika Vadhu’s Shiv), who debuts in Karan Johar’s next production, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, impressed the filmmaker enough to bag a three-film deal.

The two met on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’s sixth season, with Siddharth participating and KJo judging it. Says Karan, “Siddharth showed great promise during the show. I felt he has the potential to be on the large screen. Even Humpty... director Shashank Khaitan said that he felt Siddharth could play this role, which is integral to the movie.”

With both the producer and director having full faith in his abilities as an actor, Siddharth didn’t even have to audition. “He’s so correct for the character,” reiterates Karan, adding, “I’m happy that he’s a part of our film. We’re looking forward to continuing the association beyond this one film.”
