Didn’t Ahaana meet her to-be-husband Vaibhav Vohra at Esha’s wedding?
That’s right, but we have known Vaibhav for a long time and wanted Ahaana to meet him. After Esha’s wedding, Ahaana met him twice or thrice. Then she came to me and said, “Yes Mom, he is a nice guy and I would like to get married to him.”

She will move to Delhi after the wedding. Wouldn’t you have preferred if Ahaana had settled in Mumbai?
Yes, but hum dance shows par milte rahenge. She is not giving up dancing till she decides to start a family and Vaibhav is fine with that decesion.

Is the trousseau shopping complete?
(With a weary sigh) Finally yes, it was a task. When Esha tied the knot, I brought a lot of things from down South. This time the shopping was done in Mumbai and Jaipur. Neeta Lulla has designed her mehendi ceremony ensemble and Manish Malhotra her wedding outfit.

Where is the couple going for their honeymoon?

Ahaana is your youngest child to tie the knot, how do you feel?
My three daughters—Vijeta, Ajeita and Esha— have settled down beautifully, I am sure Ahaana will too. A daughter’s wedding is every parent’s responsibility but we don’t want to get rid of our daughters. It’s painful, but has to be done.

What was your first reaction when you learnt that Ahaana had given her nod to the match?
Extreme happiness, I have known Vaibhav’s family for three years.

How different is Vaibhav from Esha’s husband Bharat?
I am a lucky man, both the boys are very well-mannered.

What are you wearing on the D-day?
I am not a clothes person, I am more concerned about my duties. Anything will look fine on me.
