2.0 (Hindi) will end its run this week and finish at a little under 186 crore nett. The Hindi version has done well all over and even in South the numbers are very respectable for the Hindi version with Nizam/Andhra crossing 4.75 crore nett and Mysore crossing 5.25 crore nett. Bihar is excellent with a clsoe of 10 crore nett apprx which is third best of all time after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and TIGER ZINDA HAI.

The content has just been totally rejected like THUGS OF HINDOSTAN on Diwali.

The total collections of the film are in the 85 crore nett range after eight days. There will be growth over the weekend but it is pretty much irrelevant from this level. ZERO could add another 8-10 crore from here on and that will be it for the film. The South dubbed film KGF had better collections on day eight as it continues to well in Maharashtra.

ZERO could not make an impact at the box office as it collected 84 crore nett in its first week. The film opened well enough for the type of film it was but it was the weekend which was crucial as these type of films should improve well over Saturday and Sunday but it was not to be for this film as it had a flat weekend. The first week number would be good for most films but is poor for such a big film.

The collections were okay till Wednesday when the big fall came after the national holiday. If the film could have done close to Monday on Wednesday it had a chance but that was never really on the cards. ZERO has scored better in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Bihar but even here at best the collections could be called average over the first five days. The film took a hit in these parts also after the big holiday.

The film will struggle in its second week and it could have another big fall on its second Friday.

ZERO showed growth of 25% on the national holiday for Christmas Day to collect 11.75 crore nett apprx. The growth was limited for a national holiday but generally the growth is low this Xmas as films being screened on lesser screens like KGF (Hindi) and KEDARNATH also went up only 40% and 35% respectively. Much of the growth for Christmas seemed to baked into the Monday figures for all films.

The total for ZERO is around 76 crore nett in five days and these are low figures for five days with a national holiday for a big film. The film is not going anywhere with the only hope now being collections not coming down heavily on Wednesday which will at least mean some sort of run for into the New Year at the box office. If the film drops badly on Wednesday then it will hardly collect over the second weekend.

The chances to sustain to a certain extent are mainly in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Bihar especially UP and Bihar where all cities are sustaining pretty well with fair collections. The scenario is bleak in Mumbai, Gujarat and South.

ZERO dropped under 50% on Monday thanks to the holds in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Bihar. The drops elsewhere were in the 50-60% range. The Monday collections were in the 9.50 crore nett range which takes the business of the film to 64 crore nett in four days.

The film only dropped 30% in Delhi/UP as it collected 3 crore nett against the 4.20 crore nett on day one. East Punjab and Bihar dropped 40%. But its a different story in Mumbai and South as collections came down 55% and even 60% in some centres. There is the Xmas holiday on Tuesday but it might not grow as it should on the national holiday as the holiday is more effective in the Mumbai and South while its not so big in UP and Bihar.

The first week may do around 85 crore nett depending on how far it goes on Tuesday. There will be a drop post the Xmas holiday.

ZERO under performed in the first weekend with collections of 54.50 crore nett. The figures on Sunday could not reach the first day number. The disappointment is what has happened on Saturday and Sunday. The opening was always not going to be huge though it should have been 20% better than what it was. Still this was not that action film or mass comedy which depended on the first day and could easily make up ground.

But instead of making up ground it lost ground. The drop in collections after day one tell its another Shah Rukh Khan starrer which has got some numbers due to his presence with the content being rejected. The weekdays may get some numbers due to the holiday period.

The figures are better than JAB HARRY MET SEJAL and very similar to FAN which pretty much tells the story of the film.

The film has done best in UP and Bihar probably as the film is set in that world and these places tend to under perform for Shah Rukh Khan. The collections in UP and Bihar are not blockbuster levels that it makes much difference to the overall picture but at least in these two states the film has managed average business which is better than other parts of the country.

Shah Rukh Khan strongholds like West Bengal, Mysore and Tamil Nadu/Kerala have collected poorly as has Mumbai circuit. The Xmas factor could help over the next two days but the real level of the film will be known on Wednesday after the big holiday.

ZERO showed a 12% drop in collections on its second day as it collected 17 crore nett apprx. This takes the business of the film to nearly 36.50 crore nett. The film really needed to grow on Saturday as though Friday was a decent opening day number as a whole it was not good enough for this film.

The surprise is UP and Bihar and these areas actually could do well as when a film falls 12% on an all India level then these areas fall 20% but here the fall in UP and Bihar is less than the major multiplexes and that too on a Saturday. It wont make much difference to the overall picture because in terms of collections they are just 12-15% of All India.

The worst performance is Gujarat which is not doing much more business than Rajasthan when it should be double. Normally these two trend pretty similar but not for ZERO.

There should be growth on Sunday but its unlikely that it will be 30-40% and may have to settle for collections in the range of the first day which would mean a 55 crore nett weekend which is poor number for such a film.

ZERO collected 19.25-19.50 crore nett on day one which is lower than it should have done but will be a decent number if it can build from here. The problem is that it did not push in the evenings and the first day collections have come out at that 20 crore nett range which the morning number pointed to.

The biggest letdown for the film is Gujarat where the film has not collected at all and the collections are half of the Mumbai/Thane belt. The surprise is Bihar where it may turn out to be a record opening day number for a Shah Rukh Khan starrer with collections in the 75-80 lakh range.

The must for the film is it has to be up on Saturday to have any chance of benefiting from the holidays over the week. Even if it is just 10% growth it would be decent but if its a downward trend it will spell huge trouble in the first weekend itself.
