After Bigg Boss 9 and Nach Baliye 9, Yuvika Chaudhary and Prince Narula will be seen together again in The 50. The reality show also marks Yuvika’s return to television after a four-year break.

Speaking about stepping away from work and her decision to participate in the show, she said, “I had been working non-stop. Ultimately, you work for your family, and once I had mine, I wanted to live those moments fully. My journey to motherhood had its own struggles. Ekleen is an IVF baby. This show requires only a short commitment. Also, this is the first time we will be fighting for our fans, and the prize money will go to one of them.”

Prince, known for his consistent wins in the non-fiction space, is often referred to as the ‘king of reality shows’.

Asked if that brings pressure to win again, he replied, “I don’t take that pressure. Winning or losing comes later. I usually decline such offers now but accepted this one for fans. I’ve done many reality shows, and I feel new talent should get these opportunities. Just like I was given a chance, others should also get their moment.”

The couple got married in October 2018 and welcomed their daughter, Ekleen, in October 2024. Around the time of her birth, they made headlines for marital discord, with both openly addressing their differences. Today, they say that phase is behind them.

Yuvika shared, “Abhi toh bachhe ke liye bhaag ke aata hai woh. She has changed everything. I have seen with my own eyes how a child’s love transforms a person. Prince was under immense pressure, trying to plan bigger things for our future and for our baby. Emotionally, I was vulnerable, and expectations fluctuate during that phase. I also realized that until I love myself, I can’t expect someone else to fill every emotional gap. Once that strength comes, things start aligning.”

Prince added, “That phase was difficult, but we never thought of separating. Every couple goes through ups and downs, but what matters is that we stayed together and always will.”

Speaking about fatherhood, he says, “I work harder because I want to give my child the best education and facilities. Fathers’ emotions are rarely spoken about, but we feel that pressure too. I was building a home and working constantly. Yuvika was emotionally vulnerable, and it wasn’t anyone’s fault. Small issues sometimes grow without you realizing it, but we have moved past that. Since our baby was born, we haven’t fought even once. When we look at her face, we feel we shouldn’t do anything that could affect her emotionally. We want her to feel that her parents are the best and that her life is beautiful. Today, we truly feel that the most important thing in our lives is our child and we live for her.”

Reflecting on how parenthood has changed them, Yuvika concluded, “Earlier, we were two individuals living as husband and wife. After our baby came into our lives, our vision became one. We are no longer ‘two’; we are ‘us’. Every decision now revolves around her, and that is the biggest change.”

As the world marks Breastfeeding Week, actor Yuvika Chaudhary, who welcomed her first child in October last year, gets candid about her journey as a new mother, the challenges she faced, the stigma surrounding breastfeeding in public and why this bond with her daughter Ekleen is irreplaceable. “When my baby is cranky, unwell or not eating, the only thing that calms her is breastfeeding,” says Yuvika.

“It’s not just nourishment; it’s comfort, security, and love, all rolled into one. And I feel proud to be able to give her that,” adds the actor, who regularly shares updates and vlogs about her daily life on her YouTube channel.

For Yuvika, it didn’t come easy: “The first three months were horrible. I didn’t know how to do it, the milk wasn’t coming in, and I was riddled with guilt. People assume breastfeeding comes naturally, for me, it didn’t. I tried everything from breast pumps to hand expression. Yes, it hurts sometimes, especially when she bites—but it’s a phase. It’ll pass. Eventually, I found my rhythm. And this connection you share through breastfeeding? It never comes back again.”

The 42-year-old says today her approach is completely instinctive. “If I’m out and my baby needs me, I feed her. I don’t care who’s watching—it’s natural and beautiful. Why should we hide it?” she questions, “If a man can urinate on the roadside without shame, why is breastfeeding still taboo?”

She credits her family, including husband, actor- reality show personality Prince Narula, for creating a supportive environment. “I have breastfed in the living room with guests around, vlogged while feeding, and even had chats with my mom mid-feed. If we normalize it in our homes, society will follow.”

Actor-couple Yuvika Chaudhary and Prince Narula are celebrating their first Mother’s Day today after the birth of their daughter Ikeen on October 19, last year. “Three generations together — it’s a special celebration,” shares the 41-year-old, adding, “I always wanted this phase. I used to feel— When will my time come? And when you finally hold the baby, you realize it’s the only joy jiske liye ap itna struggle kar rahe thhe.”

The 41-year-old welcomed her baby via IVF. “It involved injections, checkups, pain — but I always stayed positive. Being a mum has made me more selective on social media. Before, I shared everything with good intentions, but people often misunderstood. I want to protect my child from that,” she shares.

Her partner, too, has been hands-on with her: “It was a C-section, so I couldn’t hold her immediately. As soon as she was out, Prince cut the cord, and it changed everything!”

It was her husband who named their baby. “Prince was adamant about it,” Yuvika recalls, adding, “We shortlisted names together, but he was very sure about this one.”

Motherhood is a journey, and the actor says she is back to becoming a student: “Every day, your child teaches you something. I want to go with the flow. Hopefully, I won’t be a strict parent,” she says, adding, “Prince was a free bird earlier, but now he’s all about giving the best to our baby. Ikleen is mad about Prince! I do everything for her, but she lights up the moment he walks in.”
