What do Madalsa Sharma’s in-laws have to say about her role in Anupamaa?

Exclusive: Madalsa Sharma: Trolling I get for 'Anupamaa' works in my favour

Hasti Doshi (BOMBAY TIMES; September 24, 2021)

A few months ago, Madalsa Sharma had got a pleasant surprise from her father-in-law, Mithun Chakraborty, who visited her on the sets of her TV show Anupamaa. He was shooting in Film City for a project and dropped by to surprise the actress. Madalsa says, “I had no idea that he was shooting in Film City and had planned to visit our sets. He and my mother-in-law (Yogita Bali) both decided to surprise me. I was so excited to see them. Everyone on the sets was very happy, too.”

On the show, Madalsa is playing a character with shades of grey, but she says she enjoys it. So, do her in-laws watch her show and what they do feel about the character she is playing? “My mother-in-law enjoys watching me on the show. She sees my character just the way I see it. I feel Kavya is independent and does everything possible to get what she wants. I feel that’s how we all are in real life, too, and Kavya’s role is very realistic. Both my parents and my in-laws like watching me. My husband (Mimoh), too, feels the same,” she says.

However, while at home, the family likes to talk about things other than work. “We totally cut off from the outside world and just focus on family and the things that we like to do when we are at home,” she says adding, “Yes, when I need any acting tips or suggestions, we talk about it, but apart from that, we don’t discuss work at home.”

Actor Mithun Chakraborty's wife, Yogita Bali, and their son, Mahaakshay, have been booked for allegedly raping an actress and forcing her to abort the pregnancy. An FIR was registered at the Oshiwara police station on Saturday.

The complainant has alleged that she was in a relationship with Mahaakshay in 2015 and that he had then promised to marry her. She has said in the complaint that Mahaakshay — who got married in 2018 — called her home five years ago and, after serving her an intoxicated cold drink, raped her. For a few years, he promised to marry her. Later, the accused allegedly forced her to abort a pregnancy.

The complainant said that she had approached the Rohini Nagar police station in New Delhi in 2018 to register an FIR. Senior inspector Dayanand Bangar of Oshiwara police station said, "The Delhi police refused to register an FIR. Later, she approached the court in Delhi, which instructed us to register an FIR." A case has been registered under IPC sections including 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc with intent to commit an offence) and 506 (criminal intimidation). Mahaakshay refused to comment on the charges.
