SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY has recorded excellent first week collections of 43.75 crore nett apprx and remained rock steady over the weekdays. The film had a good chance to do well in Delhi NCR and East Punjab but the bonus has come in Mumbai which picked up on day two and remained steady all week. So basically both the main areas are working for the film when normally Mumbai tends to under perform for these NCR type films.

The film may emerge a SUPER HIT film or even better going the weekday numbers but depends how the second weekend fares. It is Holi weekend so that should add to the collections of the film. There is PARI and VEEREY KI WEDDING for competition but SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY is very strongly established so those films will not make much of a difference even if they do well.

SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY is on course to be the highest grossing small film of all time as it recorded an excellent 5.50-5.75 crore nett on its eighth day. The total collections of the film are now nearly 50 crore nett.

The film is only 5-10% less than its first day collection though that is because of the holiday for Holi but even if we take out that factor it is still a very strong hold. The highest grossing small films are AASHIQUI 2 and FUKREY RETURNS at around 78-79 crore nett and this looks pretty certain to beat these figures.

SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY is continuing with strong momentum as it grossed 6.25 crore nett on its second Saturday and has now crossed 55 crore nett in nine days. The film is set for a huge second weekend total and in time it is sure to cross PAD MAN to become the second highest grossing film of 2018.

The second weekend drop is going to be somewhere in the 25% range which is excellent and its not as if the first weekend was some very low number like 10 or 15 crore nett. It was a healthy 26 crore nett and from there the film has hardly dropped.

The film has crossed 15 crore nett in Mumbai and will cross 15 crore nett in Delhi / UP on Sunday. the collections in Delhi / UP are excellent as the PAD MAN numbers will crossed within two weeks though it will not cross Pad Man in Mumbai.

The likes of Rajasthan and CI have also fared very well considering its a non cast film.

SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY was rock steady on Tuesday with a limited drop from Monday as it grossed 4.50 crore nett and this takes the collections of the film to over 35 crore nett in just five days. The film is doing excellent business in all major cities across India.

The film will have PARI for competition this week which is a horror film but the horror does look a bit weak so its unlikely to affect the run of SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY which is established for a strong run now. The week is going over 42 crore nett and then the second Friday will tell if the film can emerge a SUPER HIT or maybe even better. If the collections on Friday (real value as its Holi so they could go up) are similar to Thursday then this film could go anywhere.

The film has dropped just 20-25% and collected 4.75 crore nett which has taken the four day collections of the film to 30.75 crore nett. The first week collections of the film will probably be around 42 crore nett which is a big number for this film.

The weekend trend of the film is very similar to a similar film last year FUKREY RETURNS though the levels were a little lower as that film was around 32 crore nett after the weekend. But SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY could start catching that film as the Monday trend is better and Holi comes into play on Friday and then FUKREY RETURNS was just a two week runner as TIGER ZINDA HAI released in its third week. So this film is a sure shot HIT but could also emerge a SUPER HIT like FUKREY RETURNS.

SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY has done excellent business over the weekend collecting 26 crore nett. The growth on Saturday was a huge 45% and if followed up with another 20% on Sunday which again is very good considering Saturday had gone up so much.

The film has collected very well and trended very well over the weekend and now its about the crucial Monday. The film is going to hold going by the weekend collections but how well is the question. The fact that it had picked up by Sunday all over even where it started a little lower gives confidence that Monday will hold. The hold levels remained to be seen. The best business was Delhi NCR and East Punjab but that was expected.

SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY grossed a very good 6.25-6.50 crore nett on day one with business being excellent in Delhi NCR and East Punjab. This area was always set to do open well but the good opening in other belts is what has pushed the film to a very solid opening day number.

The opening is less than FUKREY RETURNS and this is mainly due to mass circuits like UP, Rajasthan and CI where FUKREY RETURNS opened better as SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY is a more urban film than FUKREY RETURNS. But this film may show better growth over the weekend especially on Sunday.

The same team has opened at 6.20 crore nett with PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 a few years back but that film had a following from the first PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA film. The first PUNCHNAMA film did not do the numbers at the box office but it had a very good sustained run in the cities and found appreciation with the youth which translated into numbers with the second film

The evening shows of SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY had strong occupancy which will mean a good jump today especially in Mumbai circuit as Gujarat was a slow starer but gained momentum in the evening.

The film grossed around 1.55 crore nett in Delhi/UP and 88 lakhs nett in East Punjab and PAD MAN in the latter was 92 lakhs nett.

The other release of the week WELCOME TO NEW YORK was a poor fare as it grossed 75 lakhs nett but with a spoof film there is always a chance it can be a big let down at the box office. This film will also grow on Saturday but considering the budget which is more than SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY it cant really go anywhere. The collections in Punjab were also very low due to the spoof content of the film as Mumbai might have a chance with this sort of stuff but North will reject outright.
