A while back, Urvashi Dholakia had revealed that she slipped under depression after sending her sons, Sagar and Kshitij, off to boarding school. She now says that she’s happy to be spending ample time with them during the Coronavirus lockdown. The trio had taken to TikTok to share videos. “It’s one of the ways that I bond with my sons. Everyone in the house enjoys watching our madness. It’s a good stress buster,” she says.

The video streaming platform recently faced a lot of flak for churning out videos that promote rape, acid attack and violence. The actor believes that there are some people with a warped mindset and blaming the platform isn’t a solution. She elaborates, “Any person misusing a platform should be punished. There’s no point blaming a platform because they come with a set of community guidelines and they shouldn’t be misused. However, some people choose to use it negatively.” Talking about how she chooses to use the platform for plain fun, she says, “I don’t relate to their mindset. I use it to create fun videos because that’s what people need now.”

Recently, broadcasters and television producers engaged in a virtual meeting with CM Uddhav Thackeray to resume shoots in a limited scale. Dholakia feels that it’s “a good call” since many actors are facing financial difficulties. She says, “Artistes are at home without work, struggling to makes ends meet. We’ve to feed our families.

Urvashi Dholakia doesn’t know whether to be upset or amused at reports of her ‘affair’ with director Sajid Khan. Media reports indicated that they became close ever since her two sons Sagar and Kshitij started working as ADs in his film Humshakals. The actress says, “People don’t know that I have known Sajid for 15 years. I have worked with him. He’s been a friend. Yes, I asked him to get my boys as ADs on his sets, but then I have asked Ekta (Kapoor) to help them out too. Does that mean that I am having an affair with her too? They want to be actors eventually, but I have told my sons that this is the best way to start out by learning the basics. My poor boys have got nothing to do with all this. Fortunately, I had prepared them so they were not shocked when these reports came out.”

Urvashi says she has been in Bollywood for over 30 years and has many friends with whom she has gone out to dinner with. “How come I don’t get linked to anybody else? Yes, Sajid has come home a couple of times. He is a friend, so why wouldn’t he? Let me tell everyone that I do have the liberty of going out with anybody I choose to go out with, but making assumptions is not right. If I am dating someone, I will come out and say it. Tomorrow if my boys work with another director, it will spark off another round of rumours. Yeh toh hadh ho gayi yaar!”
