UUNCHAI had a fair second week of 8.50 crore nett but collections should have been higher. The film really needed to stay in double digits for the week but because of DRISHYAM 2 going so strong and lack of youth audience, the film could not get the desired second week.

The film has grossed 24 crore nett in two weeks and it remains to be seen if it can get to the 30 crore nett mark. The film will need to sustain well for that today. The performance of UUNCHAI will be looking at a decent box office scenario compared to other films in this zone but it has not really gone through after the first week.

BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER is an average fare as it collected 11 crore nett in the second week to take its total to 62.75 crore nett. The film will still do more business than BLACK PANTHER (2018) but it could not go on after the opening. BLACK PANTHER had grossed 55 crore nett.

UUNCHAI had a little uptick in collections on Tuesday and there was a chance of this as the collections had fallen quite on Monday from its Friday numbers. The film collected around 65 lakhs nett which takes the film to 23 crore nett in twelve days

The two week business of the film will be over 24 crore nett. The second week looks to be showing a drop of around 45% which is very good in normal circumstances but the trend had to be even better for this film due to the low collections. The third Friday will determine if the film can get to 30 crore nett or not.

UUNCHAI saw a drop in collections on its second Monday as it collected 60 lakhs only which is around 50% down from the second Friday. The film could not really afford to drop this much and had to be doing business more nearer to its second Friday and preferably around 1 crore nett.

The second week business of UUNCHAI till now is 6.60 crore nett in four days and it is looking to have a second week of around 8.25 crore nett. The overall business of the film is now 22.25 crore nett and it also looks after this second Monday that 30 crore nett is best case for this film.

UUNCHAI collected a fair 6 crore nett in its second weekend. The film had collected 9.25 crore nett in its first weekend. So the drop is only 35% which is good but because of the low collections it had to be better. It had to get closer to the first weekend number which would have happened if there was no DRISHYAM 2.

UUNCHAI still has a chance of a 10 crore nett second week if it can deliver around 1 crore nett on each of the four days it has left in its second week which is tough but not beyond the realms of  possibility. The collections of the film so far are 21.75 crore nett apprx and its looking to cross 30 crore nett at the very least.

Mumbai circuit is the best for the film as it is contributing over 40% of the business and remains best in second week also despite the huge competition of DRISHYAM 2 which is doing remarkable numbers in Mumbai circuit.

UUNCHAI saw very good growth on its second Saturday as it collected around 2.20 crore nett to take its total to 19 crore nett in nine days. The release and acceptance of DRISHYAM 2 has really affected the run of this film.

UUNCHAI was doing its best business in Mumbai city, Pune and Kolkata. DRISHYAM 2 is phenomenal in Mumbai city and Pune and also doing very well in Kolkata. So basically, its in the best areas of UUNCHAI that DRISHYAM 2 is also putting up its best numbers.

Still the hold is good but because of the low first week business, it had to do better. The film should around 22 crore nett up on the board in ten days and it should finish up with some respectable final business.

UUNCHAI had a reasonable second Friday as it collected 1.15 crore nett though if the collections could have been closer to Thursday, it would have been better. The DRISHYAM 2 factor affected the film otherwise it could have got similar to Thursday or maybe even more.

The film needs a good push on Saturday which it should get but a double digit first week will be pretty hard from this drop unless the growth is huge over the weekend and Monday is holding up over the 1 crore nett mark.

The total collections of the film are around 16.75 crore nett. The figures remain low and now its about where the film goes. The issue for the film has been very limited youth support and its hard to get numbers without this segment of the audience.

UUNCHAI held up steady over the first week to do business of around 15.75 crore nett. The business is on the lower side but Thursday was not far off the business on day one which is the reason that the film can continue to do well.

The film has a good trend in all the circuits though considering its a family film, Gujarat could have done a little better. The second week looked certain to do well but now with DRISHYAM 2 going super strong on the final day of its advance, it may make it harder for the film on the second Friday.

No doubt the film should bounce back on Saturday but the second Friday still has to collect near the first Friday if the film is to put up a good second week total. As the first week collections on the lower side, the film cannot afford to drop much in the second week.

UUNCHAI remained steady on Tuesday as it collected 1.65 crore nett which is the same number as the first day though it has more screenings on Tuesday compared to the first day. The total collections of the film are 12.65 crore nett and it is on target to end the week at 15.50-16 crore nett.

The film must hold at these levels or close for the next three days and it will be huge plus if collections can even go up to 5 or 10 lakh on either Wednesday or Thursday as that will mean it is holding its levels by the end of the week.

The film shown the industry it is possible to get growth like in pre pandemic days though the film must be a more universal rather than just for urban centres but giving hope to the industry does not mean success. It is now imperative now the film goes on to emerge a success. The collections on Friday will decide whether the film ends up with a respectable total for the type of film it is or will it go on to be a successful film. If the Friday falls in the latter than chances of HIT can also be there.

UUNCHAI collected 1.75 crore nett on Monday which is a decent number for Monday. The film had trended well over the weekend but collections were low but the Monday number is pretty decent and gives the film a chance to build up the numbers though there is a long way to go.

The collections on Monday are a little higher than Friday as mass pockets showed higher numbers than Friday. Circuits like Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Gujarat/Saurashtra all showed healthy gains from Friday though numbers in metros were flat or down.

UUNCHAI has collected around 11 crore nett so far in four days and it should hold up well till Thursday and it could even show a better number than Monday in one of the next three days but the test will be where it lands on Friday. The first week collections will be only 16 crore nett. So the second week must finish close to the first week and for that to happen, it cannot afford to drop on its second Friday.

UUNCHAI showed a good weekend trend with huge growth on Saturday which it consolidated on Sunday with solid growth. The weekend business is low but with a strong trend the film can start to make ground from the weekdays and into week two.

The film has collected 9.25 crore nett over its first weekend which is low but not too bad considering the film was released on less than 500 screens. The film did get an increase of shows over the weekend and it will be showing on around 300 screens more on Monday than it was on Friday.

The growth of the film is across all circuits which is a plus for the film and is a very good sign for the weekdays. At some cinemas, the film was doing double and even treble of Saturday on Sunday though at metros growth was limited which is nearly always the case.

The trend of the film is great news for the industry but the fate of the film rests on what happens from here because eventually the film has not put up much of a number on the board yet. The weekdays are a must and they will hold going by advances on Monday but a lot depends at what level and the film has to continue to do well for a few weeks yet to really get a result.

UUNCHAI showed a fantastic trend on Saturday as collections went to 3.25 crore nett which is double the number of Friday. It is the first time post the pandemic that an original Hindi film has shown this sort of Saturday growth not counting THE KASHMIR FILES. Generally even 50% was hard to come by even for the so called content/concept films.

The film has been aided by a restrictive release which always gives more chance for a film to prosper in this way rather than it when it is released everywhere and many of these areas have little chance of working initially. The plus for the film is that film has doubled up almost everywhere. If Mumbai and Delhi/UP are double so are CP Berar and CI. On the face of it, there is nothing much in the film to appeal in these circuits but when the emotions are correct, then even mass pockets show positive momentum.

The two day collections of the film are a little under 5 crore nett; so there is a lot work to be done for the film but chances are there. The film is for families and there is potential of strong movement on Sunday though capacity restrictions will prevent some cinemas going much higher as Saturday evening saw full houses and collections can't go higher here. A circuit like Gujarat can show a huge jump on Sunday as its a circuit dominated by family audiences and on Sunday these audiences really come out when the content is there.

UUNCHAI has done reasonably well on day one with collections in the 1.65-1.75 crore nett range. There have been films post pandemic doing these sort of numbers but the difference is those films have been released on 1000 screens or more and here it is not even 500 screens.

The film has managed to get decent occupancy wherever released due to the restricted release.  The film does not have any of the elements to get that first day audience to the theatres. So if the film had managed 1 crore nett on a normal release it would have been par for the course. Here the number has gone way ahead and that too with just 25% of the shows it would have got with a normal release.

There has been no original Hindi film which has shown what can be said to be genuinely good growth post pandemic on a Saturday but maybe this film can break that myth. There was THE KASHMIR FILES but that film had a different agenda attached to it.

If this film can get that 60-70% growth on Saturday or more, it will be a huge boost to the film industry and a sight for sore eyes. All said and done the industry has to be shifting from making films which fly out of the the traps from day one but due to the sensibilities of makers which are different from mass audiences, it is easier said than done. The main reason for films dying at the box office is most films pre pandemic worked from Saturday but post pandemic, the Saturday has not been as kind as it was with films unable to show strong growth.

So if UUNCHAI can get that huge growth on Saturday it will show that films can still jump big on Saturday which will be a first post the pandemic in real terms for the film industry. There is a good chance of that big growth as the cinemas where it has been released on are the better ones which allows all circuits to grow equally well as the film is not released in cinemas which pick up less on Saturday.

The film itself has a lot of work to do because eventually the first day number is low but a big Saturday jump will give it a chance to succeed.
