Quentin Tarantino, Uma Thurman's Kill Bill gets a Bollywood remake?

Fourteen years after Quentin Tarantino
made the Uma Thurman-starrer Kill Bill, his most profi table film of
the time which revolved around a deadly assassin known as ‘The Bride’,
the franchise is up for a desi makeover. Mirror has learnt that Nikhil
Dwivedi’s production house has bagged the remake rights for the two-part
series.
A spokesperson for Nikhil, who recently produced Veere Di Wedding alongside Anil and Rhea Kapoor, and Ekta and Shobha Kapoor, confirmed the news.
Kill Bill: Volume 1, which released in 2003, introduces Uma as the deadliest woman in the world who swears revenge on a team of assassins and their leader, Bill (played by David Carradine), after they try to kill her and her unborn child. Her journey takes her to Japan, where she battles the Tokyo Yakuza (members of a transnational organised crime syndicates). Made on a budget of $30 million, it raked in over $180 million.
The sequel, originally set for a single release but eventually divided into two given its run time of four hours, opened in 2004, replicating the commercial and critical acclaim of its predecessor.

found suitable roles in the West, Tamil-Hindi actor Dhanush is all set
to cross over. He is set to make his Hollywood debut with Uma Thurman and
Alexandra Daddario (of San Andreas fame) in The Extraordinary Journey
Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An Ikea Cupboard. Helmed by
Iranian-French director Marjane Satrapi (of Persepolis fame), the comic
caper features the Raanjhanaa actor as Aja, a conjurer from a forgotten
Indian colony of artists, who is sent to Paris on a secret mission by
his mother. Sources indicate that the shoot is scheduled in India, France, Italy and Morocco in mid-2016.
The director is excited that the protagonist is an Indian magician who is funny, sensitive, witty and full of grace. She is also happy that they will shoot in India. Explaining why she chose Dhanush, Marjane says, “As I was watching various Indian movies, Dhanush became the most obvious choice - his intelligence, his killer smile, his ability to enter fully into the skin of any character he played (and I can go on and on forever) made me confident that he was the one.“
Aditi Anand, who is producing this film, feels it is an exciting time for collaborations between India and Europe.

I’d love to do a Kill Bill-Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor Khan wants to do action films, but doesn’t think she can pull it off

Fifteen years in the industry and Kareena Kapoor’s
been there and done that. From a Refugee to a Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the
actress has portrayed varied roles throughout. Still, ask her one genre
she would love to do next and she instantly replies, “Action.” Why? “It
has to be something that I can’t do because that’s more challenging,
maybe,” Bebo answers.
Coax her a bit more and she explains, “I would love to do a Kill Bill, but I hate action. I wish I didn’t hate action and could do that kind of a film because Kill Bill is one of the best films ever made.” But she has reasons for feeling the same, she exerts. “I love Uma Thurman in it. But I don’t have the fluidity of her body. I can dance, but I can’t pull off those action moves. I wish I could,” Bebo rues.
What if her bestie Rohit Shetty offers her an action film? “He’s made me do some crazy things... so who knows! He might just ask me to do something. And I can’t say no to him,” she says. Rohit, you listening?
