Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar collects 124.92 cr in 5 weeks; 42 cr overseas

TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR collected 3 crore nett in week five to take its total to 124 crore nett and it should another 2 crore nett to its the total. The overseas run for the film is practically over and its ended at $5.1 million with US/Canada doing around 50% of its overseas business with $2.5 million plus.
The overseas performance is not up to the mark as a film with a similar target audience like JUGJUGG JEEYO is 38% down in India but in Overseas it is only 10% less. The worldwide collections of the film stand at 191 crore after five weeks and will finish at around 195 crore.

India - 149 crore (124.92 nett)
Overseas - 42 crore ($5.1 million)

TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR is holding well in its fifth week as it look set to collect around 3 crore nett which will be a 35% apprx drop from the fourth week. The film took bit of a hit with the release of BHOLAA last week but is on a stronger trajectory this week though with lower collections.
The film should now finish at around 126 crore nett unless it can stay alive post Eid; then, it can add a little more. The best performance of the film is Delhi/UP where it stands at 30 crore nett which is not far off the 32.75 crore nett of SOORYAVANSHI and it could be 31 crore nett end in Delhi/UP.
The expectations of the film were high due to the combination of Ranbir Kapoor and director Luv Ranjan who has a good track record and also due to the budget of the film. No doubt these expectations would have been met pre pandemic but the demand of stronger content and shift in market dynamics meant a different scenario post pandemic and it could not reach the HIT mark.
