Tom Dick And Harry sequel kicks off in August in Hyderabad

Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; June 20, 2016)

Ten years after his comedy, Tom Dick Harry, hit screens, Deepak Tijori has announced that he is ready to roll with the sequel that will be a Sharman Joshi, Aftab Shivdasani and Jimmy Shergill-starrer. The film will kick off in Hyderabad this August.

“Like the original, the three leads are deaf, mute and blind but have grown up together in an orphanage and share a great bond since childhood. At one point they decide to move out and buy a home for themselves and end up getting tricked in the process,“ a source close to the film informed Mirror.

Director Tijori adds, “The pre-production is complete. Neeraj Vora has written the story. While the characters remain the same, the premise is entirely different.“

Meanwhile, Tijori is also set to kick off Tipsy, a desi version of The Hangover, but with female leads. “Yes, Tipsy is a chick-flick about five girls at a hen party and how their life changes the next day. We are yet to finalise shooting locations but it will be outside Mumbai,“ he informed.

Jimmy Sheirgill, Sharman Joshi, Aftab Shivdasani in Tom, Dick And Harry 2

BOMBAY TIMES (June 16, 2015)

In the first edition of director Deepak Tijori's comic caper Tom, Dick And Harry (2006), three physically challenged men - Dino Morea, Jimmy Sheirgill and Anuj Sawhney stayed as paying guests and provided us the laughs.

Nine years later, the filmmaker is returning with Tom, Dick And Harry 2, the second edition of this laugh riot. Once again, the premise is similar. It is based on a comedy of errors revolving around three men - one blind, one deaf and one mute. Quite obviously, the plot line this time around will be new. Even the main star cast sees some changes. While Jimmy Sheirgill (Harry) is being retained, we have Sharman Joshi, the actor with a perfect comic timing and Aftab Shivdasani, another favourite in comedies, playing the lead characters. Hotties Pooja Chopra (Miss India World, 2009), Nazia Hussain and Sana Khaan play their love interests.

Even though the title is similar to the first film, Deepak maintains, “This is not a prequel or a sequel to the earlier film.“ Surendra Bhatia, who's producing the movie with Narsingh Rajput under the banner, Triumph Pictures Pvt Ltd, says, “We're clear about making this a family entertainer. And that's the reason we have Neeraj Vora writing the script.“

Meet Brothers, Jeet Gannguli and Ankit Tiwari have reportedly composed some foot-tapping numbers for the film
