Tiger Shroff is married to his work right now-Jackie Shroff

Sugandha Rawal (HINDUSTAN TIMES; March 2, 2021)

As Tiger Shroff turns 31 today, his father, actor Jackie Shroff will plant a tree in his name, and calls him a dreamer who is busy weaving his own tale of success and hard work. The actor confesses it is a moment of pride when people acknowledge him as ‘Tiger’s daddy’.

“I usually plant a tree in his name, and my boy would have planned something for himself, his mother and the little baby Krishna. I have a shoot that day, so they must have planned something in the evening, probably a dinner at home,” Jackie reveals while talking about the birthday traditions in Shroff family.

The 64-year-old actor shares they don’t have anything big planned as his son is committed to his work, and that is all he wants to discuss.

“He was a dreamer as a kid and is still one, dreaming of his work and health. I get so happy when I meet kids and they say ‘He does this so well’, ‘How did he make a six pack’, and ‘What does he eat’,” Jackie says.

After spending many years in the industry, Jackie has earned several tags, from King Uncle to ‘Bollywood’s bhidu’. Now, he has a new name which he holds close to his heart, that is ‘Tiger’s daddy’. “That’s what I always wanted. It is like you go through waves, you go up and down, and suddenly my son has got on to a different rise, because everyone has accepted me as ‘Tiger’s dad’. They like my work, but he is like a cherry on my head,” says the proud father.

Tiger made a successful debut in 2014 with Heropanti, for which he invested two years to get the right body frame and fluidity in action scenes. He followed it up with Baaghi and faced his first setback in the form of A Flying Jatt (both 2016). Now he has several projects in line, including Heropanti 2, Rambo and Ganapath.

For years, Tiger has been linked to actor Disha Patani, but Jackie shares: “He is married to his work right now. Once he focuses on something, he has a laser like focus. If he gets married, I know he will focus on that.”

Ram Gopal Varma urges Tiger Shroff not to pose in an 'Urmila-ish' way

The director-producer advices the actor on his 27th birthday to learn how to be macho from his father, Jackie Shroff, and not pose like his Rangeela heroine

On Thursday night at around 8.28 pm, Ram Gopal Varma decided to wish Tiger Shroff on his 27th birthday. You could ask, what’s new given that 400-odd fans had turned up on his sets with a life-size card carrying messages from Tigerians across the world? Well, the director-producer’s series of tweets, which he posted over an hour-and-a-half with the last at 10.05 am, was for heckling rather than star-gazing.

The tweets mocked the actor, who is seen in the accompanying picture emerging from the ocean, bare-chested with his jeans riding low on his hips. While many of his admirers would have described him as Adonis, to RGV he looked like Aphrodite or rather Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela. And the filmmaker went on to tell him that while he might be great in martial arts, he needed to take a tip or two from ‘Dragon’ Bruce Lee who, he pointed out, would never have become the legend he was had he posed like a bikini babe.

After urging the young actor to “please think”, RGV went on to advice Tiger to learn how to be macho from his own dad, Jackie Shroff, “who even without martial arts, poses more like a man and never like this”.

Tagging both Jackie and his wife Ayesha besides Tiger himself in the tweets, the maverick filmmaker was quick to add that his tweets were purely him “being a fan of Jackie and nothing else” and urged Jackie to tell his wife and son that. The veteran actor plays a significant role in RGV’s upcoming film, Sarkar 3, and he eulogised Tiger saying he might have a six-pack, but his dad’s eyes and body language is far better than many muscle groups.

He ended the Twitter monologue saying, “@iTigershroff Truly real men like Bruce Lee and @bindasbhidu (Jackie Shroff) don’t ever pose in a Urmila-ish way”.

When Mirror contacted him, the filmmaker insisted that he loves Tiger and wants him to look more macho while posing for pictures. “That was just done in my usual way which I keep doing at various times to various people,” he reasoned. “I love the way Tiger is so macho in his fights and I don’t like that very model-ish kind of pose. I would like to see him in more intense pictures and that’s what I expressed (myself).”

When asked if he had noticed any similarities between Urmila and Tiger, he said, he had said what he had to and wouldn’t comment further.

While Jackie and Tiger chose not to comment, Ayesha Shroff simply stated, “I have nothing to say to him (RGV).”

Tiger Shroff to spend 27th birthday with sister Krishna on the sets of Munna Michael

Krishna Shroff will be with brother Tiger as he brings in his 27th birthday on the sets of Sabbir Khan’s directorial today

Tiger Shroff turns 27 today and the actor who doesn’t believe in throwing grand bashes, will ring in his special day with a working birthday on the sets of Munna Michael. He will be shooting in Vasai for the most part of the day but sister Krishna who is an assistant director on the Sabbir Khan directorial, is ensuring that her big brother, who is otherwise a fitness freak, breaks his strict diet and eat a slice of cake.

Speaking to Mirror, Krishna says, “Tiger has always disliked any kind of attention that his birthday brings. He’s been celebrating it on a film set since the last couple of years and he’s happy about it, often saying that he’s blessed to be working on the day.”

But the actor always manages to take some time out to chat with his fans and open their presents. “This time we’ll be together and I’ve made him promise that we’ll both cheat on our diet together and actually eat some cake. We are shooting an action sequence so he’ll burn off the calories anyway,” Krishna laughs.

Producer Viki Rajani informs that they will be filming on a highway which has been specially blocked for the shoot. “It’s going to be a tiring day for Tiger. It’s a regular shift and we’ll only pack up late in the evening. But we will surely cut a cake and hopefully party later,” he says.

Once Munna Michael wraps up, Tiger will kick off two sequels, Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Baaghi 2.
