THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER has done well its first week with business of 80 crore nett but has seen falling collections over the weekdays with big drops in the Mon - Thu period. The 80 crore nett mark looked easy on Monday but the film just about managed to get there 

The drops have come across the board but there maybe some respite over the weekend which may stabilize the collections somewhat. The 100 crore nett mark looked a comfortable target for the film but now its not that easy especially if it was to drop again today. It should still be the dominant film this week as new releases are not offering much.

The box office numbers of THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER till date are as follows.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER dropped further on Tuesday as it collected in the 4-4.25 crore nett range on Tuesday taking its overall total to 74 crore nett plus. The film probably had some post Eid benefit on Monday due to which there is a more noticeable drop on Tuesday.

The first week is probably heading towards an 81-82 crore nett total which is still good and the film remains on course to easily cross the 100 crore nett mark. The reports in in the various markets in India were so so. Hence, it was always going to be a first weekend film and it got the numbers. Now lack of competition will ensure business is healthy on Saturday and Sunday again. Despite the Monday drop, the film should continue to collect well over the weekends and will dominate the box office again this weekend.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER dropped on Monday but still proves to be a HIT. The collections are down almost 55% from Friday which was the lowest day out of its extended four day weekend as it collects 5.25 crore nett apprx on Monday. There could be some post Eid benefit in these collections as it has held better outside the metros.

The film has collected around 70 crore nett till Monday and should do around 82-83 crore nett in the first week. Despite the Monday drop the film should continue to collect well over the weekends and will dominate the box office again this weekend. 

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS collected 132 crore nett and although its unlikely that THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER will go that far it will comfortably cross the 100 crore nett mark and maybe even 110 crore nett. That is a good result and makes it the second HIT for Hollywood this year after DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION was the other success for Hollywood in India this year.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER scored a good extended first weekend as it grossed around 65 crore nett over the first four days. The film opened well on Thursday but then faced a big drop on Friday and it looked very difficult that Sunday would be back to levels of day one. But it has managed to do so.

There was a big upturn on Saturday and then a little more growth on Sunday though the metros where pretty much flat and most of the growth came from the mass pockets and mainly from the dubbed Hindi version of the film.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER is on course to becoming a HIT as long as the film sees a normal trend post the weekend. The reports of the film are mixed but the business of the film has been good over the first four days.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER collected well again on Saturday as it picked up another 17 crore nett with collections gaining around 50% from Friday. There had been a drop on Friday but now collections are almost back to the day one levels.

The film would have been closer to the first day number were it not for Nizam/Andhra which is still heavily down from its first day. Mumbai circuit is better than the first day which is a plus for the film. The collections over the first three days are 47 crore nett and it should be a very good extended weekend of 65-70 crore nett for the film.

KHUDA HAAFIZ CHAPTER 2 - AGNI PARIKSHA also saw a jump on its second day as collections rose around 40-45%. Still the collections remain low and it has to hope that the collections on Monday are higher than Friday if the film is to survive.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER saw a big drop in collections on the second day as the film collected 11.50 crore nett. A 25-30% drop was on the expected lines but here the drop is 35% plus as all circuits dropped for the film. Normally a film which opens like this, you would expected Sunday to come back to the first day levels but this looks hard now for THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER.

Still the film should get upward trend over the weekend and it will be a good weekend due to the opening day collections. The weekdays could be tougher but as long as there is no crash it will still be able to do business over the weekends. The two day collections of the film are good at 30 crore nett.

KHUDA HAAFIZ CHAPTER 2 - AGNI PARIKSHA opened to low collections of around 1.25 crore nett which is pretty much similar to last weeks RASHTRA KAVACH OM though collections in mass belts are lower than that film in places like UP, Bihar and Gujarat. Hence, the collections will probably be a few lakh less than RASHTRA KAVACH OM . The business is slightly better at multiplexes than the Aditya Roy Kapur starrer.

The first part of the film was an OTT film and so the branding is totally wrong to even think about a cinema release. Then on top, its an action film with little face value. The industry has to understand that streaming is basically television with another name simply because it is on television. Now you would never have though about bringing a second part of a television film or show to cinemas. So why an OTT film.
