THE SHAUKEENS grossed around 20 crore nett in week one and did hold steady collections on the weekdays but on the lower side. The film suffered from a slow start and although weekdays were okay, it faces competition from a big films like KILL DIL in week two. The best business came in Mumbai circuit.

The long in the making RANG RASIYA was a poor fare grossing around 3.25 crore nett in week one. The film is out of most theatres in week two
-------------------------------------------
HAPPY NEW YEAR grossed around 7.75 crore nett in week three taking its total to a little over 176 crore nett. The film is now the seventh highest grossing film ever beating the figures of last year's Diwali release KRRISH 3 which now goes into eighth place.

The film will go one place higher as it crosses the business of YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI in its fourth week to finish in sixth place. The best business for HAPPY NEW YEAR is in Mumbai circuit as it will contribute around 34% of its all India business.

The final business will fall around 27 crore nett short of Shah Rukh Khan's last release CHENNAI EXPRESS with a huge 17 crore nett of this shortfall coming in the South India circuits of Nizam/Andhra, Mysore and Tamil Nadu/Kerala.

The Shaukeens collects 14.90 cr in 4 days

THE SHAUKEENS had a reasonable hold on Monday as dropped around 40% from Friday but the collections are low. As the Friday collections were low, there is always a chance of a decent hold on Monday. The approx collections for the first four days are as follows.
Friday - 3,50,00,000
Saturday - 4,25,00,000
Sunday - 5,00,00,000
Monday - 2,15,00,000
TOTAL - 14,90,00,000

The film is likely to have a first week in the 19.50-20 crore nett which should have been the weekend business. KILL DIL is releasing on Friday so it will hard to get good numbers in week two..

The Shaukeens collects 12.75 cr in 3 days; Rang Rasiya 2.25 cr

THE SHAUKEENS grossed around 12.75 crore nett over its first weekend. The film did show growth over Saturday and Sunday but the starting point was too low. The approx collections for the weekend are as follows.
Friday - 3,50,00,000
Saturday - 4,25,00,000
Sunday - 5,00,00,000
TOTAL - 12,75,00,000
The film grossed 5 crore nett on Sunday but that had to be its starting point on Friday and then grow like it did. If that had happened then the film may have had a chance at the box office.

The other release of the week RANG RASIYA was a very poor fare grossing around 2.25 crore nett over its first weekend.

Day 1: The Shaukeens 3.50 cr; Rang Rasiya 60 lacs

THE SHAUKEENS fared poorly on day one as it grossed around 3.50 crore nett. The start was slow but the problem was that it did not pick up much and the final collections came in similar to what they looked in the morning.

The better business has come in multiplexes outside the metros like in East Punjab and the Central belts with East and South being poor. Business in Uttar Pradesh was also not upto the mark as was the case with most single screens. There will be growth on Saturday but probably not the sort that the film needs to put up a respectable first weekend total.

RANG RASIYA also fared poorly as it collected around 60 lakh nett on day one though it have a better response in the evening at some multiplexes. Overall collections are too low for the film to go anywhere.
