The Matrix Resurrections is a confusing and complicated film. Even those who’ll binge-watch all the earlier 3 parts would find the film bewildering. The film starts off well and the digs on their own selves and also Warner Bros is witty and keeps one interested. However, as the film progresses, it becomes more and more complex. A lot of difficult and technical jargon is thrown at the audiences and hence, they further lose interest. All the previous 3 parts of The Matrix were known for their mind-blowing action. The action in The Matrix Resurrections, however, is anything but fun and won’t take your breath away. Keanu Reeves is in his element and same goes for Carrie-Anne Moss. Their chemistry is thanda this time but it keeps the film bearable. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II doesn't suit the part of Morpheus. Jessica Henwick is excellent and her look is praisworthy. Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris and Jada Pinkett Smith are decent. Priyanka Chopra is wasted while Purab Kohli has a blink-and-miss appearance. All in all, The Matrix Resurrections is a needless sequel.
My rating - * ½ out of 5!
