BAAZAAR had a poor first week as it collected 15.75 crore nett. The film had to hold better on weekdays to stand a chance but a drop of nearly 50% on Monday settled the fate of the film. Mumbai circuit has fared better with Mumbai city and Gujarat faring better than the rest of the country. The collections in Mumbai circuit were close to 7 crore nett while Delhi/UP was just 3 crore nett.

BAAZAAR had the normal drop on Monday as it collected 1.50 crore nett which is a low collections. The film had to be near its Friday total but that always looked difficult as collections were actually much lower than they looked in most regions and the bulk of the collections were coming from Mumbai circuit.

The film is heading for a first of 16 crore nett and then it will have another six days to get some collections. The way it has gone is that it will mainly have collection in Mumbai in week two as other places are generally low occupancy so even without much competition its not getting much screen time. A 20 crore nett final total looks the best bet for the film.

BAAZAAR had a poor weekend of 10.50 crore nett though it is probably better than what most would have expected for this film. It will struggle on the weekdays as its a one circuit film with Mumbai doing far better than the other circuits. Mumbai has had a weekend of around 4.50 crore nett.

The film is very similar to LOVEYATRI but at a bit higher level. That film was running in its third week in Mumbai but not in other circuits and here the film will struggle to go into week three anywhere because of THUGS OF HINDOSTAN. The only real plus for the film is that at least it has some audience and is not a total washout like the KAASHI - IN SEARCH OF GANGA and 5 WEDDINGS.

BAAZAAR went up around 35% on its second day as it collected 3.75 crore nett which has taken its two day business to 6.50 crore nett. The collections are not good but could have been worse considering the start it took.

The film is putting up respectable collections in Mumbai circuit with over 40% of the all India business coming from Mumbai. There have not been many films made on the stock exchange and the business of BAAZAAR pretty much tells why. Its very much restricted appeal. The film will find it tough on Monday as Mumbai circuit does get hit on Monday and the business in Mumbai is respectable, its not running riot in the circuit for it to take it through.

BAAZAAR collected in the 2.50-.2.75 crore nett range which is a poor collection but its around 1 crore nett better than it looked in the morning when it opened. The film managed to improve its collections in the Mumbai/Gujarat belt.

This is probably because the film is based on the stock exchange and has Gujrati language in the film. The film is very dull in the North with Delhi/UP picking up just 50 lakhs and East Punjab 20 lakhs nett. Mumbai circuit will be more than double of Delhi/UP with collections being around 1.25 crore nett. The film is the best opening for Saif Ali Khan in recent times with his other films being around the 1 crore nett mark.

The film has a pick up on day one but it is very regional so there has to be a doubt that the film can really go on. It is a mainly a multiplex film and for them you need Mumbai and Delhi on board as mass centres are not going to help much but here its looks like just Mumbai has a chance as Delhi collections are too low.

BAAZAAR was far better than the other releases like 5 WEDDINGS, CHAL JAA BAPU, DASSEHRA, GAON - THE VILLAGE NO MORE, KAASHI - IN SEARCH OF GANGA and THE JOURNEY OF KARMA were total washouts.

The best of the lot was KAASHI - IN SEARCH OF GANGA which collected 20 lakhs nett. Despite having the best collections among its competitors it is still a huge disaster which means its best not to say much about the others.
