URI grossed an excellent 62.25 crore nett in its second week and its not the number that is huge as some films have done better in week two but the trend. The film has dropped a little under 15% in its second week and that has ever happened before with collections this high. The total collections of the film are 133.50 crore nett after two weeks.

The second week collections of the film are better than the New Year blockbuster SIMMBA which collected 61.65 crore nett in week two. The film did have its first noticeable drop in day fourteen which makes the 200 crore nett mark difficult. Last week this film improved collections on Friday compared to Thursday and if that happens this week again then it the 200 crore nett mark will be on.

But to do this again is a huge ask as there are other major releases this week so a drop is likely though this film has always surprised in its run so far.

THE ACCIDENTAL PRIME MINISTER has seen AVERAGE results at the box office as it looks for a close of around 24 crore nett apprx. There was a fall in collections in week two of around 75% but it still managed to do 4.50 crore nett which did not look like happening considering how it dropped in the weekdays of the first week.

The film has put up decent numbers for a documentary type of film. The collections in week three can be better than WHY CHEAT INDIA.

URI had a miracle second Monday as it grossed around the 6.75-7 crore nett range. The film hardly dropped on its second Friday from its first Friday and now has hardly dropped on its second Monday from its second Friday. Basically the drop from day one to day eleven is under 20% and this has never happened in the last decade or so; definitely not for a film which collected over 5 crore nett on day one.

The second week is heading for a figure of 60 crore nett and could even go higher. It will be very interesting what happens on Friday when MANIKARNIKA - THE QUEEN OF JHANSI releases as at the present the way this film is trending, a 200 crore nett plus figure is on the cards. It will be some sort of competition which stops this film as it has struck a chord across India. South which was low in the first week is excellent in the second week as the second weekend alone in all markets of South India be it Nizam/Andhra, Mysore or TNK recorded higher numbers than the whole first week run.

URI has created HISTORY in the second weekend as it recorded higher collections in its second weekend than the first weekend. The film had collected 35.92 crore nett in its first weekend and the second weekend is 37.75 crore nett apprx. This has never happened before for a film which opened with 5 crore nett plus collections. Only some films opening in the under 2 crore nett range have seen a higher second weekend

The last time this happened was DUM LAGA KE HAISHA in 2015 where the second weekend was a few lakhs better and before that in 2014 when Queen did the same but there is a huge difference as those films were doing it on low collections while URI has managed it on good collections.

The total collections of the film now are 109 crore nett and it is only a matter of time that the film crosses the likes of STREE and BADHAAI HO as URI has a bigger reach than those films. In the mass markets the film has already crossed those films or is on the verge of crossing it today (Monday).

URI had an excellent first week of 70 crore nett apprx and had superb collections on the weekdays and even Thursday was not much lower than the first day. The film is a potential BLOCKBUSTER and the Friday collections of the film will confirms it. A January BLOCKBUSTER is very rare and if it does come, it is normally in the last week of January and first week of January.

The film basically started as an urban film but some of the patriotic angle and dialogues are slowly reaching out wider. The South markets are weaker due to regional films but Mumbai, Delhi NCR, East Punjab and West Bengal have done excellent business.

The film has the potential to be one of the bigger January films and also the highest grossing film ever which has cost under 50 crore to produce and release. It has been made on an apprx 45 crore cost including PA.

The rest of the country is super strong with the surprise being West Bengal which is doing far higher for a film of this type.

The film is a HIT and could be a SUPER or BLOCKBUSTER film but that will be known on the second Friday. At the moment it has chances to cross the likes of STREE and BADHAAI HO but Second Friday will tell where it is going.

URI showed strong growth on Saturday of around 40% with collections going to around 11.75-12 crore nett. This is a good number for day two and the film now has chances of emerging a HIT film depending on Monday.

The film has scored very good collections Mumbai, East Punjab and West Bengal. Delhi/UP should also have been on the list as East Punjab is there but the collections in UP have let the film down as yet probably due to the treatment and lack of face value. The two day collections of the film are around 20 crore nett in two days which are good figures.

THE ACCIDENTAL PRIME MINISTER had limited growth on Saturday with a jump of 15% apprx. This was sort of expected as the first day collections were pretty high for this type of film which meant it was the controversy which aided the film. The film collected 4 crore nett on Saturday to take its total to 7.50 crore nett which is still good collections for two days though the trend is not that good.

URI had a pretty good opening day of around 8-8.25 crore nett. This is a very good number considering the face value of the film though if we compare with the films of last year then the value is less. Due to the tax change at the beginning of the year the NETT collections will generally look better compared to last year and this could get much better in the summer as multiplexes start raising prices to last year levels and even higher.

The opening day number is good for the face value of the film but the film has a lot of work to do as the budget is very high for the face value of the film. There should be good growth over the weekend but it will be about how well the film hold over the weekdays. Despite being an action film it is mainly the big cities that are doing well while smaller centers are low and single screens all over did not really collect.

THE ACCIDENTAL PRIME MINISTER grossed a decent 3.50 crore nett on day one and again it is helped by the tax changes compared to the films of last year. The film was helped by the fact that it is a little controversial which got it some media hype and that in turn helped created awareness.

This film is also a total multiplex film and for metros as well and it remains to be seen how it goes over the weekend. If the controversy has really pushed the numbers a lot on day one then it could struggle for growth over the weekend.
